North Shore, Day 2

Repost of photos from old post taken down in February.

Pu‘o o Mahuka is the largest war temple used for human sacrifice still standing today above Waimea Valley. It's pretty, but damn is it's not a little spooky too. 12/18 8:43 a.m.

Driving up around the north tip of O'ahu toward the lush east side. 12/18 1:10 p.m.

Kahana Valley on the East Side. 12/18 1:18 p.m.

From the other side of the Kahana Valley Bay.

A rogue and very unusual wintertime south swell was rocking O'ahu on the afternoon of December 18, and a few lucky bodyboarders were getting unbelievably shafted at Sandy Beach on the South Shore. 12/18 2:57 p.m.
