Come Along
It's sunny and offshore this morning, so come along and give me some company as I go for a surf check.
The view from Warm Water Jetties looking north to Tamarack (what should be my "home break"). Oceanside is in the far background.
Warm Water Jetties. So named because seawater is used to cool the San Elijo power plant and flows out a few degrees warmer. (Although you can hardly ever tell.)
About a half-mile south of Warm Water Jetties is Terramar. If wishes were fishes, I'd live in this six-bedroom house.
Terramar, looking pretty fun this morning -- for a longboarding wave.
This is the view from South Terramar, a mediocre spot, but the view looking south toward Carlsbad State Beach is nice.
South Ponto. Packed this morning with about 30 fisherman. Must be some sort of class or sumthin'.
Little League dads, NSSA style. There was a conference contest going on at the main Ponto Peak this morning (just south of the Lagoon outflow). The NSSA is still the best showcase of young surf talent and the dads are amped.
The door to Leucadia Donuts, where I pick up a chocolate donut with rainbow sprinkles for Hannah and a chocolate bar for Sydney.
