Shrek 3 Disappoints
I have high expectations, especially for people and things that I know can be super wonderful.
That's why seeing Shrek 3 tonight was a mild letdown. The original Shrek looked and sounded fresh. It had a certain bouncy momentum. Now, six years later, the third installment seems leaden in comparison. The only laugh out loud moment (for me at least) was the "life flashing in front of your face" sequence with the Gingerbread Man. Awesome.
The girls liked the whole movie though, so maybe I'm just getting crotchety. Maybe I just need to lower my expectations. But it sucks to "settle" after experiencing something wonderful. Plus, at these ticket prices ($30 for tickets plus $8 for candy and drinks), I think we deserve more.
