Siena To Florence

After watching the swallows dive past our window in Siena, we continued our Twilight pilgrimage with a trip to Volterra. Not sure what the fuss is about, but the town was beautiful.

Then down we went to Florence and our 4:00 p.m. rendezvous with David. That guy didn't disappoint. True genius.

Thousands of swooping swallows in the morning Siena sky.

My daughter loves vampires.

Volterra horse ring.

Tuscan landscape outside of Volterra.

"O" stands for ....

Tuscany.

Gelato moustache.

Florence's major Duomo.

Wow.

True geniius.

David was a cyclist.

Florence's City Hall, where David stood outside naked for more than 300 years. Think about that for a bit. (You can see the replica there by the door)

Michelangelo called this work by one of his comtemporaries a waste of marble -- but, hey, who could compete with that guy?

Ponte Vecchio.
