Zermatt

From our hotel in Breiten, we backtracked up the valley to the little village of Ernen before heading to Zermatt.

We were quickly out the hotel door to catch the Gornergratbahn rack railway up to 10,100 feet to stand in awe beneath Monte Rosa, the Matterhorn, and glaciers.

The very well preserved town of Ernen.

Monte Rosa is the highest mountain of Switzerland at 15,203 feet.

You could really appreiciate the scale of it all when this helicopter disappeared smaller than a fly as it traveled up the glacier.
